Setting up the perfect train track can be time consuming for some yet others enjoy working on it. People grab this opportunity to bond with their family since setting up the tracks and cleaning it after is a group effort.

When cleaning it, people can take turns to get the job done faster. Someone can hand the track to another person. Afterwards, the next in line wipes it with the cleaner. Then the other person wipes the cleaner off the track and then the other one puts away the cleaned track carefully in its box or container. When you want to play with it again, try to ask someone to help you out lay it out and then the both of you can enjoy looking at the train as it goes round and round the tracks laid down.

Parenting Tips - Choosing A Toddler Bed

Toddler beds are great as they offer so many conveniences. For one they tend to be smaller than the regular full size bed and take up less space. They are also perfect for the child who no longer wants to be in the crib but still has to have some sort of rail to keep them from falling when they are asleep. Before you get the toddler there are a few things that you need to keep in mind.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

The first thing is safety. A toddler beds are perfect because they are lower than regular beds and as stated before have options for a safety railing to prevent them from falling. The cost would be another factor but they are pretty affordable.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Your next concern may be space. The toddler bed is rather compact and takes up very little space. The toddler can also get in and out of the bed quite easily because the bed is lower than the standard size bed. They get the freedom of movement. That may scare you a bit as they may choose to make regular trips to your bedroom at night but it is a phase that will pass.

The next thing that may be of concern to you is the look of the toddler bed. What style options do you have and what color options do you have? There are many stylish designs out there for you to choose from and they all come in a variety of colors. They also have all the requisite safety features that you require. The great thing is that once you have decided where you want to purchase the toddler bed you can take the little one along and have him choose from select options. Don't offer too many options though. Juts two or three will do.

Getting a toddler bed is a great step toward the next phase of your toddler's life. It is a necessary expense so make it a special one.

Why Buy a Junior Bed Over a Regular Twin Bed?

Kids beds are smaller versions of adult twin beds. Children spend much more time sleeping in their beds than adults. Therefore, it is important to consider many factors before purchasing one for your child. What are the key differences between an adult and junior bed? Why should you buy a children's bed for your child? Below are some pros and cons of buying a kids version versus an adult one.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Adult twin bed pros / Kids bed cons

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

1. Adult ones are larger and a kid can grow into them. Therefore, a new bed will not have to be purchased as the kid grows.

2. Adult twins look like other regular twins. Therefore, your child will not feel like his is smaller and not for grown-ups. Having his own bed is important for a child to become more independent. Therefore, it is oftentimes important to give the child the same thing that his older sister or older brother has.

3. Regular twins don't have extra amenities and therefore you will not pay a premium for one. It is very easy to purchase a regular twin for a good price.

4. Adult twins don't need smaller kids mattresses or unique sheets specially designed for the kids beds. Therefore, you will spend less money keeping up these beds.

Junior bed pros/Adult twin bed cons

1. Kids beds are specially made for the size of kids. This means that they are smaller in size and usually lower to the ground. Regular twins are made for adults so they aren't as low to the ground. These are easier for children to climb into and out of.

2. Children's beds help to ease kids into adult ones. A lot of times, the junior beds have extra built in rails that will keep the child safe and secure in the bed. For regular twins, an extra bed rail will have to be added when the kid is younger, especially if the kid tends to roll around while sleeping.

3. Kids beds are specially designed with fun characters and fun things for children. For example, there is the race car bed designed for little boys and little girls. These all make going to sleep more fun for a kid. This helps the parent and the child at night. Adult twins don't come with these features so other things will have to be added to compensate.

4. Some children's furniture is specially designed for babies or toddlers. This toddler furniture are perfect for the baby becoming a toddler. These junior beds have special railings that can act as a crib and then convert into a regular junior bed later on.

When purchasing furniture for your child, consider these pros and cons before making a decision. Every child is unique and you must consider where they are developmentally before choosing. Also, consider the space of your house and other examples that the child sees before purchasing your child's junior bed.

Wooden Bench Making in 6 Easy Steps

Although you may think it is really more difficult than it really is, bench making can be done in 6 simple steps. After we have gathered the needed materials and tools we can do bench making in no time. We can make ourselves a nice, simple and safe wooden bench; one that will be both functional and beautiful and something you will be sure to get compliments on and a great conversation piece. After all, what's better than saying, Yeah, I made that!"

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Bench making is easier with these six steps.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

1. First, we start off by measuring the frame of the bench seat to our desired dimensions, cut them, and then tack-nail them together. Bench making includes drawing a curve line on the side pieces lengthways and cutting them using a jigsaw before attaching them together. This forms the seat shape. We may also form it as we see fit.

Then cut and sand the seat slats and mark their face boards. Screw the seat frame tightly together. Glue and nail the slats to the frame, beginning from the back. A ¾ inch vertical spacer will help. A good bench making design is providing a slight slat overhang on the front.

2. Second, we come to the screwing portion of bench making. Glue and screw front legs to our seat frame by first pre-drilling and applying countersink holes for screws to fit in. Do the same with the hind legs.

3. Third is sanding. Bench making is also about safety so we round sharp corners and sand the seat face and legs to smoothen all surfaces. This avoids board grains or fibers from sticking out and hurting the user. Sanding also creates better-looking seat surfaces.

4. Fourth, we deal with the back rest in bench making. Get the top rail measurement and add a space 5/8 inch from the rail top to the back part of the hind leg. This should give a 1/8 inch space at the bottom of the rail between the back part of the leg and the rail.

Then place the router tenons or tongues and vertical back slats on one end. There should be a fitting groove at the top rail. The tongues should easily fit into the groove. Glue the slats and nail them.

5. Fifth, bench making with armrests requires putting wood cleats 3 1/2 by 3/4 by 3'4 inches to support the front legs. Make a 3/16 inch hole with a drill at the midpoint of the cleat and have it attached through the bracing at the corner.

The armrest should measure from the back of the hind leg to some inches off the front leg. An armrest notch should receive the leg support of the back rest. Drill a hole and countersink atop the front cleat piercing the armrest then glue and screw.

6. Then, sixth is final sanding. Bench making should end with all surfaces, ends, and corners smoothen before painting. There we have our nice, simple, and sturdy bench.

Baby Crib Bedding Sets

Baby Crib Safety - Frequently Asked Questions

The crib is where your baby will spend a lot of their time and you want to be sure they are safe. Below are some of the questions (with the answers) that are asked about crib safety. Topics such as mattress position, how to place your baby in the crib, and general safety standards are discussed, as are other issues. If you need further information you can search the Internet and visit baby furniture stores.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Q. Are there safety standards for baby cribs?

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Yes there are some very exact standards for your baby's crib. In 1974 it was made law that cribs should no longer be painted with lead based paint. It was discovered that the ingestion of lead (from any source) could cause learning disabilities and other difficulties in young children. The slats of the crib must be no more than 2 3/8 inches apart, this is to prevent your baby from getting his body or head stuck between the bars causing injury or strangulation. The side bar should be 26 inches above the mattress when it is in its lowest position. If your child is more than an inch taller than the sidebar it is time to move him into a regular bed.

Q. Are there some hazards in my baby's crib that I need to be aware of?

Your mattress must fit snugly in the crib; an ill-fitting mattress could cause your baby to slip between the mattress and the side bar causing suffocation. The mattress height should be able to be adjusted into at least three different levels. When your baby becomes more mobile you will want to put the mattress in the lowest position to prevent your baby from climbing or falling out. The slats should be tight, loose slats could pinch little fingers. Do not put the crib near a window to prevent your baby from possibly falling out or becoming tangled in Venetian blind cords.

Q. What are some historical facts about the crib?

Here is a short chronological time line of crib facts:

1973 - The standard for crib slats was to be no more than 2 3/8th inches apart to prevent your baby from slipping through or getting their head stuck. Also, double latches for drop-down sidebars were to become the norm.

1976 - The standard for cutouts in the crib end panels are presented. The end panels must not have any decorative cutout designs. Children were getting their limbs or heads caught causing serious injury or death.

1978 - Cribs must now be painted with non-toxic finish.

1981 - Two models of cribs with cutouts are recalled.

1988 - A voluntary standard addresses mattress support hardware, failure of glued or bolted connections, drop-side latch failure and loosened teething rails.

1990 - No corner posts or projections can be more than 1/16th of an inch above the drop-side.

1998 - California and Washington mandate that hotel cribs must meet the same standards
set for full-size cribs

1998 - Portable cribs must now meet the same standards as full-sized cribs.

Q. How can I tell when my baby is ready for a regular bed?

When your child stands more than a couple of inches taller than the sidebar with the mattress in the lowest position. If your child is climbing out of the crib, for his safety put him in a regular bed.

Q. How should I put my baby to sleep in his crib?

Place your baby on his back or on his side for sleeping. Use one piece sleepers rather than blankets. Your baby could slip under the blanket and possibly suffocate. Remove all pillows and toys as well, in order to prevent suffocation.

Q. Is it safe to cover my baby with a blanket?

A blanket sleeper will keep your baby sufficiently warm while sleeping. If you absolutely need to use a blanket, tuck it in around the bottom of the mattress. Place your baby with his feet toward the end-panel and the blanket should go no higher than his/her chest.

Q. Is a mesh sided crib safe to use for my baby?

Yes, a mesh crib is safe provided the mesh is less than 1/4 inch in size, smaller than a tiny button on baby's clothes. The should be rips, tears, or loose threads. If staples are used to attach the mesh they must not be exposed and the mesh must be securely attached to the top rail and the floor plate.

Q. Can I safely use bumper pads in my baby's crib?

While bumper pads are not necessary, they can safely be used. They must be very close the edge of the mattress and properly secured. The bumpers must be flat and not puffy, as your baby could get stuck between the bumper and the mattress and suffocate.

Q. What can I do to keep my baby's crib safe?

In order to keep your baby's a safe place, you should make sure to all connections are secure and that there are no broken or missing parts. Regularly, check the teething rail for splits or cracks. Make sure the mattress spring support and your crib will withstand your baby's increasing mobility. The mattress itself should have no splits, tears, or holes.

Q. How can I tell when it's time to lower the mattress?

When your baby becomes more active, when s/he begins to pull himself to a standing position or when he sits up alone it will be time to lower the mattress to prevent your little one from either climbing out or falling out.

Q. Can I hang a mobile over my baby's crib?

Mobiles and crib gyms can be used to entertain your baby but when your child is able to get on to their hands and knees or pull themselves up. This will prevent your baby from becoming entangled in them.

In Conclusion

Making sure your baby's crib is safe, is an ongoing to task. Proper positioning of the mattress, making sure all connections are secure and that there are no loose slats that could pinch little fingers will help to keep your baby's crib a safe place for him to be.
Be sure to place him in the crib on his back or side and dress him in a sleeper rather than using a blanket. Keeping these tips in mind will help keep your baby safe and give you some peace of mind.

Baby Crib Safety - Frequently Asked Questions
Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Lensbaby Wide Angle

Points To Ponder When Selecting Baby Crib

A baby crib is your baby's first furniture. It is the only item in the world that you are intending to leave your baby unattended for periods of time. That is the more reason to buy only cribs that are safest. The baby crib will also be the place where your child will be spending most of the time. Cribs are expected to be of use until the child is about two to three years old when the baby is prepared to be sleeping in a real bed.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Baby crib standards for manufacture have been at work since 1973. Old cribs therefore should already be discarded in favor of the newer designs that meet safety standards. Parents are lavish when it comes to providing for their children. And so it is expected that parents will want the best baby crib. You can always opt to buy the most expensive baby crib and parents whenever they can afford it will always try their hardest to provide for their children what they think is best.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

The best for your child is not necessarily mean the expensive kind as features has to take a back seat when it comes to safety. There are standards that should be observed when selecting a baby crib.

Safety

The Consumers Products Safety Commission has mandatory safety standards and good baby crib manufacturer subject each crib to tests before they put it out into the market. Any crib therefore that is in circulation should have the seal of passing the mandatory standards.
All finishes, paints, stains, lacquer etc. must be lead free. Baby's love to bite and put into their mouths anything that fancies them. You would not want your baby chewing on materials with lead content.

Be on the lookout for warped slats and weak rails as even the most expensive is subject to human errors. It is not only the baby's weight that the crib could be supporting. You could be leaning into it when picking up the child and your added weight might break a weak rail and could injure both you and your child.

Avoid also decorations that could trap your baby. Everything could be working fine in the earlier months but when the baby starts to grow and become active, fancy decorations could injure the child.

Do not settle for baby cribs made from inferior woods. Inferior woods could be cheaper but it will not provide the stability that you might need. Remember the crib that was passed on and used from sibling to sibling? Baby cribs are like that. Your next children could be using the same crib and if you do not check out for stability, well you know what usually happens.
Some of the mandatory standard for cribs design that should help you during your selection.

-Distances between slats should be not more than 2 3/8 inches.

-The top of the drop sides when in raised position should be at least 26 inches above the support from the lowest position.

-Drop sides must be not less than 9 inches above the mattress support.

-The size of the frame should at least be 27 ¾ inches wide and 51 ¾ inches long.

It is always best to buy cribs months before your child is born. Cribs are not staples in many stores and when you have a particular baby crib in mind, locating a particular baby crib could be difficult and time consuming.

Use Pentair Pool Products to Avoid Disasters

People usually do not realize how important it is choose the right swimming pool appliances and accessories until disaster strikes. Even Zac Efron's Los Angeles mansion was flooded when his swimming pool overflowed. If you use Pentair pool products, you are unlikely to suffer such catastrophes. The company has a wide range of cleaners, filters, heaters & heat pumps, ladders & rails, lighting accessories, maintenance & safety equipment, white goods, pumps, safety vacuum release systems (SVRS), and valves.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

One of the most important components of your pool equipment is the pump. It ensures that the water properly circulates so that you do not end up swimming in stale water.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

One of the advantages of using pumps by Pentair is that their pumps can be used for a very long time because high quality raw materials are used to manufacture them. Another major advantage is that their pumps also consume less electricity. You will be surprised to learn that the variable speed models run on up to 30% less electricity than the ones made by other companies. Remember to purchase your pump after consulting professionals because certain models are compatible with certain types of pools.

While procuring cleaning equipment too you should choose from Pentair pool products. Three types of cleaners are manufactured by this company: robotic, suction-side, and pressure side cleaners.

Pressure-side cleaners are attached to the circulation system. These cleaners use water pressure to collect the debris and dirt in a bag. You may opt for a model with a built-in hydraulic power plant.

Suction-side cleaners supposed to be attached to a suction port of the pool. In some cases, a vacuum port is set up to operate the cleaner. The filter pump creates suction and the dirt is collected by the cleaner vacuum. The garbage is emptied through a hose pipe.

Robotic cleaners are preferred by many because they require low-voltage electricity. Moreover, the fact that they have their own filters also ensures that the main filtration system is not affected. Apart from increasing the life of the filter and the pump, this also decreases the need for frequent filter cleanings. However, the best thing about these cleaners is that you just have to plug it in, put it in the water, and everything else is done by the machine.

You may purchase Pentair pool products through online stores because they sometimes offer good discounts.

Motor Development Milestones And Baby's Sleep 4 - 12 Months

So, you thought that you had nailed it - your baby has just mastered the art of sleeping through the night and bang - it's all gone sideways because they have developed a new motor skill.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Here is a list of motor development milestones - how they can affect sleep and what you can do to help your baby get back on track. A recent study noted that there was a relationship between an onset of night wakings and motor development milestones - babies were found to have a harder time settling down to sleep and would start waking more frequently at night, two weeks before they took their first steps. It is also important to remember that often babies wake up at night and like to practice their new found skills as it is so much more exciting than going to sleep - in fact, they like to cry a little or give you a call to join them for their late night rendezvous.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

o 4 - 6 months

Rolling over from their back to their front but can't roll back.

Once a baby starts to roll, the above scenario will have you up a couple of times in the night to help your baby roll back, onto their back. If you have not witnessed them roll from their tummy to their back then they probably have not yet mastered that skill - so you might have to help out initially. However, once you have seen them do it - you should refrain from getting too involved otherwise they will be calling for you to come and do it for them every time. Once a baby has the ability to roll over the neck muscles are stronger and the chance of SIDS decreases. Lots of parents worry about their baby and this tragic phenomenon, but there is no need to worry, your baby is developing normally and is building even more strength for their next amazing step.

o 6 - 9 month

Sitting - Crawling & Standing

Sitting - Once a baby has grown into their head they are not so top heavy anymore and they finally have the ability to sit. You may find that once in bed then can go from being on their back to rolling to doing a fast push- up and are up in 5 seconds flat. For co-sleeping parents this can be especially challenging once there little one is awake and sat up, they think its super fun to poke your eye and touch your nose, while practicing the odd vowel or delightful squeal at the same time. OUCH! You should deal with this by laying them back down and saying a key word or shhh in a calm and collective manor, limit eye contact and don't do anything that will get them excited into thinking it is morning time. They may sit back up a few other times but lay them back down again.

Crawling - This is the one that you were waiting for - your little sugar plum starting to crawl and then of course - when it happens - you realize that you had so much more control when they were sitting only. Whether your baby is crawling on all fours, using their hands, with bum in the air and their legs like they are walking, or sitting on their bum and scooting around in reverse, this is another little wrench in the sleep works for you!

Babies just love to practice this kind of stuff during the night when waking during their light sleep phase. You put them to bed in one spot and the next time you see them they are squashed up in the corner with a blanket intertwined around their limbs looking rather like a pretzel.

Crawling can also bring on separation anxiety as your little one starts to realize that they are not an attachment of you but their own separate being. This type of anxiety has a distinctive cry that is often described by parents as more of a scream or as hysterical and can cause quite a bit of sleep regression.

Standing up in the crib is extremely frustrating for parents especially when this happens half way through sleep training. Just a few nights ago you could lay your baby down and they would drift off to sleep - now you lay them down and before your back is turned two little hands grasp onto the crib rails and the top of a head peppered with wisps of fine hair is struggling to peek over the top. This scenario always makes me chuckle even though it is frustrating. I think it is one of the cutest things to have your little one try and stretch to see you. If you have already left the room though and then they decide to stand it can leave your child with the feeling of being stranded - COME BACK- they cry - for you to be met by a gummy smile and wet cheeks. For most little monkeys who have reach this stage - they can get up but not down, the most worrying part is the possibility that they could fall and bang their head. If this milestone happens before sleep training - then hold off while you teach your baby how to lower himself back down. This can be done by placing your hands on top of theirs on the crib slats and lowering them down and saying a key word as well. If you are in the middle of sleep training you should stay close by and keep helping them down just be careful that you don't turn it into a game - but practice teaching them how to get back down during the day too. If they are already sleep trained - you may have some regression - so you will be back to going in at night for a short while - stay in night time mode and don't make too much of a fuss. The phase will pass and next on the list is walking!

o 9 - 12 months plus

Walking - another bump in the night for you - during these milestones their will be no stopping your little one as they want to explore every avenue possible - yes they will wake up at night and practice scaling the crib - walking up and down - be careful and refrain from having anything in the crib that is hard that could be a possible hazard and if you need to put some crib bumpers on or safety proof then go ahead.

Offer lots of opportunities throughout the day for you little one to explore and use up their energy, at this age they barely stop for to breath. Babies rarely like to be confined to their strollers or strapped into car seats at this age.Although your little one is full of energy that they are just waiting to burn off they still need an adequate amount of sleep so don't be fooled into thinking that naps are not important just because your toddler is not showing signs of slowing down. At this age they still need between 11 - 12 hours of nighttime sleep and 2 - 3 hours during the day made up of two naps.

How to Baby Proof Your Home

As a new parent, keeping your baby happy and safe is your new life's mission. Nothing is more important and you will do whatever it takes to make it happen. To an inquisitive little baby a house is fraught with danger, so baby-proofing your home is of paramount importance.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

First, you'll want to start with the crib. Since your newborn will be spending most of its time there, this is a good place to start.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

* Decorating the crib can be cute but refrain from hanging anything over or above the crib. If these should be come dislodged your baby could be seriously injured if it fell on them.
* Mobiles make for great baby entertainment but only hang them from the sides of the crib or crib rails. Since mobiles are made up of small parts and could choke an infant, keep them elevated and out of their reach.
* Make sure the crib mattress is at the right height and that your baby can't reach and climb over the rails. Lower it if you have to.
* Keep unnecessary objects out of the crib and allow for plenty of space. Too many blankets, pillows or stuffed animals can suffocate a baby or cause overheating which can lead to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). And when you put your baby to bed, always remember to put them on their back to reduce the risk of SIDS.

As your child grows and develops, he will be spending more time out of the crib and gleefully wandering about. Some safety precautions that are easy to implement include the following:

* Window Guards: Screens alone will not prevent a child from falling out an open window. Install guards that screw into the window frame.
* Furniture Restraints: Children can become very adept at climbing so use anti-tip restraints or secure furniture to the floor or wall. An open drawer will attract any child who could pull a dresser down on them very easily. Keep furniture away from windows also.
* Stair Gates: Install stair gates that bolt to the walls to keep your child from falling down a staircase. Gates that use spring pressure against walls can easily become dislodged and are not recommended for blocking off a staircase.
* Kitchen Cabinets: Keep all cleaning solutions in cabinets up out of the reach of prying little hands. Install baby latches on cabinet doors. It's also a good idea to keep garbage pails out of sight behind latched cabinet doors also.
* Bathroom: Same as kitchen cabinets. Install latches and keep all cleaning solutions out of reach. Keep the toilet covered with the seat down. Toilet latches are also recommended. When bathing your child, never leave them alone in a bathtub full of water!
* Door Knobs: Baby door knob covers are recommended to keep your child from opening doors and "escaping" to wonders unknown. Closets can also be extremely dangerous if opened. Using special baby knob covers will keep them from entering any unwanted areas of the house.
* Electrical Outlets: Tiny fingers have a way of getting into the smallest of places. Be sure to install outlet plug covers in all your outlets and keep electrical wires covered and out of reach.
* Tools & Sharp Objects: Always keep these out of reach and locked up safely in a tool box or latched drawer. A child can do severe damage to themselves with scissors or any other pointed or sharp object.

These are just a few simple steps that you can take to help make your home a safer environment for your baby. But the most important tip of all, is to NEVER leave your child unsupervised. Be vigilant in your care and never lose sight of what is important... your baby!

3 Golden Rules For Toddler and Baby Shared Bedrooms

As your first born starts his first steps towards independence, you might decide to welcome another little baby. If your second baby is due while you are still potty training your first, you are justified in feeling a little overwhelmed.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Decorating the nursery is always a fun experience...as you have the liberty to do what you want with it. However, if the idea is of shared bedrooms for both, your toddler and baby, there will be some new things you need to be aware of.

Bed Safety Rails For Toddlers

Relax and ease those palpitations. Decorating a space that is equally appropriate for both baby and toddler can be just as wonderful an experience. Remember these Three Golden Rules for shared kids room design.

Golden Rule 1: Make the Room Safe
Safe for Baby - If you are using the same baby crib that your first born slept in, you need to check it for any damages and wear or tear. Invest in a good baby monitor to help you keep track of happenings even when you are out of the room. A mosquito net will not just keep the bugs out, it will stop your toddler from throwing toys in or climbing in himself. Your baby will soon start copying the first born and his actions. Any toys bought for the toddler must be baby safe too. Safe for Toddler - When shopping for a toddler or twin bed for the shared bedrooms, pay special attention to the safety rails. Remember, he can now reach new heights. The decor hung or kept at baby safe distance need to be moved farther away. He can now climb onto the rocking chair - keep it away from the windows and keep the windows barred when you leave the room.
Golden Rule 2: The Room Must be Bright, Cheerful and Lots of Fun
Fun for the Toddler - He has been used to having everything to himself...until now. In the midst of the excitement of the newborn, he might feel a bit neglected. Why not include him in the decorating process. Make it a fun adventure, buy some new furniture pieces for him - a small table and chair set are a perfect fit. Fun accessories will make the room a place your toddler would love to spend time in. Fun for the Baby - A soft area rug that defines the baby space (and another for the toddler of course) can be chosen in the theme for the baby. Give the space 2 distinct looks for each of the occupants in the shared bedrooms. This will give them a feeling of belonging - their own private space. Tie the two themes in with a common wall mural.
Golden Rule 3: Keep Cool and Expect Conflicts
Calming a Cranky Baby - Babies will cry...especially when they need their sleep. Talk to your toddler and explain his responsibilities as an older sibling. He won't always listen though. If he doesn't sleep on time, either during naptimes or at night, why not let the baby sleep in your room. Once they are both asleep, shift the baby to his crib. Calming a Cranky Toddler - Used to being the center of your world, the toddler can get quite irritable when he needs attention and you are busy with the baby. Expect some ups and downs as both kids try to settle down and adapt to the new situation. Keep your cool and keep persevering...the kids will eventually learn to enjoy each other's company.

As more and more western families turn to the trend of young children sharing bedrooms (a common trend in many countries around the world), we find that children not only adapt quickly to each other, they grow closer and enjoy a deep bond that later physical separation also cannot affect.

So go ahead and chalk out your plans for that lovely nest to be shared by your toddler and baby...and as the bumps begin to smoothen out, see your kids spend more time together and soon leave you in peace (and planning your next baby, perhaps?).
